Did you know? He Cheng is the first fruit brand in China to calculate carbon emissions.

He Cheng, invested and managed by Hong Kong people and grown in Chenzhou, Hunan, adheres to the principle of sustainable development, insists on growing pollution-free organic fruit, and has become the first fruit brand to obtain carbon footprint certification from the British Standards Institution (BSI) through strict carbon emission management.

BSI Certification and Carbon Footprint

BSI British Standards Institution is an internationally recognized quality assurance mark. The carbon footprint of Worange complies with the ISO 14067:2018 international standard. After auditing and calculation, the carbon emissions from Worange planting to transportation (cradle to gate) are 0.0793 kg greenhouse gases emitted per 1 kg of Worange* *Greenhouse gases (including carbon dioxide, methane, nitrous oxide)

What is a carbon footprint? Simply put, it is the total amount of greenhouse gas emissions produced throughout the entire life cycle of a product. The carbon footprint of Worange is BSI certified, proving that every step from planting to transportation is strictly managed for carbon emissions.

Worange - A New Choice for Low-Carbon Living

One of the lowest carbon oranges in the planting process: According to research data published in 2009, recorded countries including Spain, Brazil, and Italy have an average carbon emission per kilogram of orange ranging from 0.08-0.33 kg, Worange’s 0.0793 kg level is close to a low carbon level.

Low-Carbon Planting: Using organic planting methods, reducing the use of chemical fertilizers, effectively lowering carbon emissions.

Transparent Management: Every Worange can be traced back to its source, allowing consumers to clearly understand its carbon footprint.

Benefits of Low-Carbon Planting

Organic planting not only helps reduce carbon emissions but also improves soil quality and protects the ecological environment. The organic planting process of Worange not only makes the orange healthier and tastier but also reduces agriculture’s impact on the soil and achieves sustainable development. In the trend of pursuing health and environmental protection, Worange allows consumers to enjoy high-quality, safe, and flavorful fruit while supporting a low-carbon lifestyle.

Know a Little More

What is Carbon Footprint?

Carbon footprint calculates the total greenhouse gas emissions produced throughout the entire life cycle of a product. It is usually divided into two methods: "Cradle to Grave" and "Cradle to Gate".

"Cradle to Grave"

Conducts a comprehensive environmental impact assessment of the entire life cycle of a product. Carbon emissions are calculated from raw material extraction, to production and transportation, customer use, and finally disposal or recycling.

"Cradle to Gate"

Assesses the environmental impact during the early stages of the product life cycle. Carbon emissions calculation includes raw material extraction, production, packaging, and transportation processes, but excludes the environmental impact caused by consumer use and disposal or recycling.

Since nearly 80% of the carbon emissions from crops are generated during the planting process, carbon emissions are mostly calculated in the "Cradle to Gate" form.

Why calculate carbon emissions?

Carbon footprint helps enterprises understand their environmental impact and take measures to reduce carbon emissions, contributing to the realization of a low-carbon economy. As an important evaluation indicator, it can help consumers make more environmentally friendly choices and promote continuous improvement in products and production processes by enterprises.

Low Carbon Consumption Guide: What You Need to Know to Create an Eco-friendly Life

Low carbon consumption is a way of integrating low carbon awareness into daily life, aiming to reduce individual carbon footprints, choose environmentally friendly products and services, and contribute to environmental protection.

Ways to Practice Low Carbon Consumption:

Shopping Tips

Prioritize local products: Reduce carbon emissions during transportation.

✅Worange takes only 5 days from origin to Hong Kong, and is stored without refrigeration, resulting in low energy loss.

Pay attention to product packaging: Avoid over-packaged products; choose simple and recyclable packaging.

✅Worange’s packaging bags and cartons are recyclable. For the choice of packaging bags, please refer to another article.

Eating Tips

Eat more fruits and vegetables: Reduce meat consumption to lower carbon emissions from livestock farming.

✅Worange is rich in nutritional value and grown using organic fertilizers, safe and healthy.

Reduce food waste: Purchase reasonably and avoid overconsumption.

✅Worange peels are unwaxed and can be used as ingredients or for DIY eco-friendly enzyme production, with wide applications (for making eco-friendly enzymes from orange peels, please refer to another article (link)).
